Just a Few Updates
16 Oct 2009 02:16 PM
It’s now 2:17pm on a gloomy Friday. I was supposed to
wake up early, work out, and then go to the office to
sit in at the orchestra’s rehearsal. But I woke up
late, so now I ended up staying at home, working out
here using my bike and bike trainer, and playing a
bit of Cafe World in Facebook. Games like Cafe World are the closest
thing I will ever get to playing Sims. Though
I’d love to buy the Sims 3, it’s something that
would be very unwise for me, considering my work
load. There was a time in college when I’d spend
around three to five hours in a day playing that
game.. gaah. I wish I could get that time back.
At least with games like Cafe World, some
progress still happens during the game even if
you log out.
--------
Got a 5pm call time today at Pagcor for the big band gig.

“-Ber” months are well under way. Got word from Gerard that busy, busy months are ahead. We’re looking at arranging for the Hongkong Philharmonic Orchestra again (woohoo!) plus arranging for Lea Salonga’s “Your Songs” concert with FILharmoniKA. Exciting! While I am still waiting for the assignments to pour in, I’ve been leisurely poring through scores of different kinds of music along with their mp3’s - classical music, broadway, big band, and some of my colleague’s works.
I’ve also been accepting more than the usual number of playing gigs lately, as I’ve been trying to save up for the trip to Hongkong (hopefully to hear those arrangements live) and have also been buying stuff for my running and biking. Would really like to get a heart rate monitor.
Regarding my current bike, I’ve already written a blog post with photos. But my husband Dex says I could improve on the photos, so I’ll wait for that before posting it.
