This Is War!!!

No, not really... It's just that our new little doggie's name sounds like the Filipino word for "War." He he.

Meet Gera!

Gera first week at home 2

Full name: Gera z Herodesova Domu

We named her Gera after her grandfather, Gero, who is famous among working-line German Shepherds. He holds many working titles (represented in red letters). He and Gera hail from a line of Czechoslovakian frontier-police dogs (border patrol). These dogs were originally bred to help stop people from illegally crossing the border. Nowadays, the line continues as there is a demand for excellent police and sporting dogs all over the world.

("No, you will be a pet dog."- Daddy Dex)

Here is Gera's mom, and her pedigree (the red letters stand for working titles):

Dex hasn't started training with her yet. We will wait till she is a bit older.

Photo taken while taking a break from Singing Bee transcriptions. Yeah, I know the quality sucks - Dex should get me a phone with a better camera Happy

Meet Guenther. He is temporarily staying with us, while we are nursing him back to good health. Dex got him from a friend who left to work abroad. He's been with us for around three weeks. I am still undecided as to whether we'll keep him. We currently have three dogs with us, and a fourth one is about to arrive in a few weeks.

Lately, Guenther keeps me company during my all-nighters when hubby is fast asleep. Guenther used to sleep out in the yard but would wake us with his howling, so we decided to let him sleep inside the house. Surprisingly, he is very well-behaved indoors.
